TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— After 18 months of planning, the Riverfront Master Plan has officially launched.
This is a community-driven plan focused on the development of the Wabash Riverfront and is being led by several organizations, including the city of Terre Haute, Vigo County, Riverscape, and Thrive West Central. This will be a long-term plan, and their goals are to stimulate economic development in and around the river, create safe and convenient access, and develop housing along the river. This plan will help transform the Wabash Riverfront into destinations that attract visitors and improve the quality of life for residents.
“We look at communities that have done this type of work,” said Lori Danielson, the Riverfront Development Director. “We know that we’re going to drive economic development. We know that we’re going to bring new investors to our community. Which drives revenue for our community and increases quality of life.”
